Bungee

Steven had to spin at a beach party in Scheveningen and while we were there, we went bungee jumping. It was awesome! I wasn't nervous before, was even chatting with the guy that went up in the booth with me. However when it was time to turn around and I saw the sea below me, I thought 'Holy f*ck!' Never thought I could scream that loud haha.

I've always wondered how the interior of the Stadsschouwburg (or city theater) would look, so Wing & I went on a tour of the theater. It felt like a private tour, since our group consisted of 6 people. Our guide told some interesting stories and showed us almost every nook and cranny of the theater. It was really fascinating; so whenever you have some spare time on the first Saturday of the month, take the tour for only € 5,-!

How do you like them apples?

It's apple picking season, so we went to a local apple orchard and it was so much fun! Maybe I should bake an apple pie or something, now that I have enough apples for the next few weeks...

The Hague

I haven't seen my friend Anouk in a while, so we finally made plans to catch up in The Hague, where she moved to a couple of months ago. We had dinner at a Vietnamese place, called 'Little V'. The food was alright, but not quite authentic Vietnamese. Unlike NYC (sigh...), there is a serious lack of real good Vietnamese restaurants in Amsterdam (or NL for that matter). I had fun in the Hague, it was really great to see Anouk again and I got a chance to take a good walk in the city.

Surf's Up

Went surfing for the first time today! Was supposed to get a surfing lesson, but somehow they didn't get the e-mail CK sent. So we decided to just rent surfing gear and try to catch some waves by ourselves. When we got to the surf school, there was another mix-up and they didn't have enough surfboards for us. We had to wait for an hour before we could surf, but we got to rent the gear for free due to all the inconvenience. Surfing is really difficult. I managed to (semi)stand on my board just once and my board smashed into my chin at one point, ouch... It was real fun nevertheless. Eventhough I was pretty beat, I decided to run 8 km when I got home, hardcore!

Archery again with Wing Si & Chi Kit on Tuesday. This time however, I sucked! And I mean really bad: I managed to let the arrow bounce back about three times, argh! Thankfully, I didn't hit anyone...

Practised some archery Saturday! After a few practice rounds, we had a little competition and I was 4th runner-up, yay! (I was even a bit better than one guy-friend, but let's not mention his name haha) One of the instructors (who were very nice) said I shot very 'Eastern', something about the way I position my hand when shooting (watch the vid on my Facebook), guess it's just in my blood haha. I enjoyed it more than the time we went shooting with guns, 'cause the only thing you need to do when firing a gun, is to pull the trigger.

Museumweekend

I was supposed to go biking along the flowerfields at the Keukenhof, but due to not so great weather, we decided to go to the Hoge Veluwe instead. I also remembered it was Museum Weekend, so we could also visit the Kröller Müller Museum, which is located there. I have to admit I've never been to the Kröller Müller Museum (or the Hoge Veluwe for that matter) and it was really fun. There are bikes all over the park you can use for free, which is an excellent method to transport yourself in the park. I was pretty bummed that the sculpture park was closed when we got to the museum, though.

Standing at the entrance of the park: 'The Park and Museum together cost € 14,-...' 'Whaaat 14 bucks??!' 'Can't we just pay € 7,- for the museum and not for the park?' 'The museum is located in the middle of the park, stupid...' Lady at the register hearing our discussion (not amused):'Today is Museumweekend, which means you get a 50% discount' We:'Ooooooow!' Hahahaha pretty embarrassing...
