In Bruges

DSC03746
Went on a family trip to Bruges. The city is sometimes referred as 'The Venice of the North' because of its canals. I highly recommend visiting Bruges, the city is absolutely beautiful with its canals and architecture. No wonder the historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage.

Let's take a walk

More walking than running...

Introducing...

...Mr. & Mrs. Tjoa :)

My lovely friend Liliane and her fiancé Stanley got married! The day started with the wedding ceremony in a very cool church, with Lil's church band singing, they were really good. Lil looked stunning when she walked down the aisle, I was so happy for her :) In the evening we had dinner, with another great band. They were singing all the big hits, which made us terrorize the dance floor haha. The wedding cake was gorgeous! It was a 6 tiered cake, surrounded by 10 other cakes on top of ice. It was truly an amazing wedding, I had a warm and fuzzy feeling the whole day :) Congratulations to the beautiful couple!

The Hague

Binnenhof
I haven't seen my friend Anouk in a while, so we finally made plans to catch up in The Hague, where she moved to a couple of months ago. We had dinner at a Vietnamese place, called 'Little V'. The food was alright, but not quite authentic Vietnamese. Unlike NYC (sigh...), there is a serious lack of real good Vietnamese restaurants in Amsterdam (or NL for that matter). I had fun in the Hague, it was really great to see Anouk again and I got a chance to take a good walk in the city.

Surf's Up

Went surfing for the first time today! Was supposed to get a surfing lesson, but somehow they didn't get the e-mail CK sent. So we decided to just rent surfing gear and try to catch some waves by ourselves. When we got to the surf school, there was another mix-up and they didn't have enough surfboards for us. We had to wait for an hour before we could surf, but we got to rent the gear for free due to all the inconvenience. Surfing is really difficult. I managed to (semi)stand on my board just once and my board smashed into my chin at one point, ouch... It was real fun nevertheless. Eventhough I was pretty beat, I decided to run 8 km when I got home, hardcore!

Work It Out

First of all, Happy 4th of July to all my American friends! My iPod was acting a bit strange as you can see above. For some reason it kept ending my workout.

One Minute to Midnight

My little cousin Fung Fung's summer holiday started today already. Whatever happened to Friday being the last workday and therefore being the last school day? Anyway, he wanted to proof he could stay up till midnight yesterday. He could barely keep his eyes open at around 23.30. I told him to go to bed, but he kept insisting that he could sleep at twelve. The following minutes were spent counting down ('only 10 minutes left...5 minutes left, yay!'). When it was 23.59, Wing told him he could go, since it would be midnight once he'd reach his bed. He immediately ran upstairs after hearing that. Too funny...

Sunburn

Today was my first day at the beach of this summer! Sharon, Viv, Steven, Kien & I went to Zandvoort, where the weather was really nice with a little breeze. I still got pretty sunburned though. Once home, I managed to run 9 km, woohoo!
